Bible translations
Where the Scripture quoted on this site comes from, and the notices the publishers ask us to carry.
Which translation, where
Passages quoted in full carry the translation next to the reference. Short references in brackets — (Eph 4:12) and the like — are pointers to look something up, not quotations.
- NIV — New International Version
- Every passage quoted in full on Gifts of the Spirit except Revelation 19:10, every one on The one anothers, the 1 Corinthians 14 quotation on Our gatherings, and 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13 on Elders.
- NASB 1995 — New American Standard Bible
- The 1995 edition. Used on How we’re led, The five gifts and Deacons, and for Revelation 19:10 on Gifts of the Spirit.
- ESV — English Standard Version
- Ephesians 4:7, 11–13, on The five gifts.
- Our own rendering
- Hebrews 13:17, quoted on Elders, and Hebrews 13:7 and 13:24, set beside it in the translation notes, are translated from the Greek here rather than taken from a published version. The reasoning, phrase by phrase, is set out in the translation notes.

Copying and reuse
Everything written on this site is free to copy, reuse and share, with no permission needed. That is a deliberate choice and it still stands.
It does not extend to the Scripture quotations themselves. Those belong to their publishers and are used here under the terms above, which each publisher allows without written permission for a small number of verses. If you copy a page from this site and keep the quotations in it, you are working under those terms too. Carrying the notices across is the whole of what they ask.
