Coast House Churches

About us

Coast House Churches is a network of house churches on the Hibiscus Coast in Auckland, New Zealand. We meet house to house and we’re learning to become a mature community that looks like Jesus.

Our vision

The Body of Christ built up, mature and fully expressed as Jesus on the earth

Ephesians 4:12–16

This is the whole aim. Not a bigger meeting, not a better programme, not a larger network, not even more house churches. A group of people who together are transformed into the image of Christ. Everything is downstream of that. Everything.

Focus areas

Five things we give ourselves to

These are the things that really matter and make a difference as we mature and become like Christ.

Becoming like Jesus

This is the very core identity of the church. Everything else rests on this. We are His Body on the earth — hands, feet and all.

Communion with God

This is about remaining in the Vine, so that we might be connected to His life and bear much fruit.John 15

The written Word of God

The authoritative standard for our faith. Everything we do and believe should be measured against this.

Growing healthy relationships

Honest, loving, strong relationships. Growing the ability to keep these types of relationships in hard times and in good.

Culture — the “one anothers”

The standard for how to relate to one another and a picture of a healthy community.

Our culture

The “one anothers”

There are roughly 60 occurrences of the “one another” statements in the New Testament. They paint a picture of what a relationally and spiritually healthy Body looks and acts like. This is what we aspire to grow into and express as a community.

Love one another. Bear with one another. Forgive one another. Submit to one another. Confess to one another. Carry each other’s burdens. Don’t slander, don’t grumble, don’t judge, don’t bite and devour one another.

These are not suggestions about atmosphere, they are the Scriptural description of what a healthy church is like from the inside.
